In April of 2022, join teachers in a Cultural Immersion Trip in one of the most beautiful and naturally diverse islands in the Caribbean, Jamaica! An island full of mountains, the island appears supernatural, thus creating idyllic scenery where you can enjoy the exuberance of this magical land.
Jamaica is all about diversity, freedom and feeling. Majestic waterfalls, lush jungles, picturesque beaches, and amazing music too. But, above all else, Jamaica is the land known for their kind and warm people, we guarantee you’ll want to return!
The trip’s informal theme is all about being and having culturally informed practices where we are learning from and collaborating with our Jamaican teachers (never there to impose our culture onto theirs, but to learn theirs, humbly share ours, and come back home with a different perspective we can bring to our own pedagogy) while holding space and pouring into each other. Your leaders are Jill Shafer and Taína Benitez. Our vibe will be lingering rather than rushing, just as the Jamaicans do….and being present in each experience where you will expand your cultural knowledge, gain personal and professional breakthroughs, while establishing meaningful relationships with other teachers and forever friends!

Itinerary
Day 1: April 19 - Arrival to Montego Bay
Welcome to Jamaica. Arrival at Montego bay airport. A TWL team member will be there to greet you and guide you along.
Enjoy a scenic drive to your all-inclusive hotel where your breathe is about to be taken away by the beautiful Caribbean weather, palm trees and turquoise water.
Meet your leaders, orientation at hotel in the evening
Relax and enjoy the sun, sand and your new teacher friends!
Day 2: April 20 - Day in School
Drive to Jamaican School, spend the day with our warm and friendly Jamaican hosts.
Enjoy a beautiful evening back at this very large luxury resort while building new friendships with both American and Jamaican teachers.
Day 3: April 21 - Day in School
Drive to Jamaican School, spend the day with our warm and friendly Jamaican hosts. Enjoy a beautiful evening back at this very large luxury resort while building new friendships with both American and Jamaican teachers.

Register by choosing a package above. Space is limited. The deposit to book is $300. Balance is paid in monthly installments or can be fully customized for you.

Once your registration is complete, you will receive an invite to login to our community (or for quicker access, click ‘Login’ on top right of our website). Our exclusive TWL community is where you will attend fun virtual events and also meet your fellow teacher travelers!

Plan Your Program
Accommodations and In-country transportation is included in all packages. We’ll send you instructions on obtaining your travel insurance, visas and list of vaccinations, if applicable. You’ll book your own flights (see FAQs) but we can hold your hand and help you choose the best flight!

We'll keep you in the loop on what to bring, helpful resources, monthly tips + tricks, and any other fun updates between registration and our TWL program trip finally begins!
